FINCH
Christopher “Sonnyboy” Finch (he/him/they) is a transdisciplinary performing artist, deviser, meditator, and life lover who studies, practices, and (de)constructs at the edges of being. Rooted by a deep faith in humanity and working throughout the contours of mindful inquiry, presence, attention, intimacy, friction, undoing, imagination, allowance, and delight, he conjures what is becoming from what was in a public exhibition of a concept he calls conscious (r)evolution. This is a concept that believes generative societal revolution to upend elitism requires billions of intentional micro evolutions. In this way, his work ultimately becomes an exercise in his personal conscious (r)evolution, holding space for others to do the same, and toward a vision of a planet Earth filled with lighter being. He delivers this work in forms of live performance, experiential facilitation, written and spoken word, digital medias, and so on. Complimentary to his artistic practice, Christopher is the founder MINDFooL, a project incubator that advances the skills for and develops organizing models to demonstrate conscious (r)evolution in real-time. He is a slow traveler with deeper connections in the gulf coast (Houston) and northeastern metro-islands (New York City) on this vast, diverse, and aching land: Turtle Island (U.S.A.).
